Zachary Levi and Bill Maher debated whether he’s been «cancelled» in Hollywood over his political beliefs.
Shazam star Zachary Levi has become a vocal conservative in recent years but the actor denied in a recent chat with Bill Maher that it’s had any negative impacts on his career.
Levi recently made an appearance on Maher’s Club Random podcast where the talk show host seemingly did not believe that Levi hasn’t been “cancelled” in Hollywood after he endorsed Donald Trump for president in September.
“Have I been canceled?” the actor said with a laugh. “I hope I haven’t been canceled yet. I mean, if it happens, it happens.”
Maher responded, “Come on, didn’t you lose jobs for that? Isn’t that what canceling is?”
“No,” Levi responded. “For coming out and voting for Trump? I mean, listen, I have yet to see what the ultimate effects of all that are gonna be. I already had multiple jobs that I was in the process of shooting or that I have yet to shoot, and none of those have been compromised.”
Levi maintained that he hasn’t received any criticism from Hollywood studios or his team regarding his political beliefs. In addition to endorsing Trump, the Harold and the Purple Crayon star also openly criticized the covid vaccine and the SAG-AFTRA strike.
