The trailer for ‘Rust,’ starring Alec Baldwin, has been released, and the movie is slated to hit select theaters and VOD on May 2.
Alec Baldwin‘s involuntary manslaughter trial may have been what launched Rust into the spotlight in the first place, but the public finally has a first look at the upcoming western, which is being released this spring.
Per People, who exclusively shared the film’s trailer today, Baldwin stars in the movie as an outlaw named Harland Rust. Set in Kansas in the 1880s, the film follows him as he escapes hiding in order to rescue his grandson and orphan Lucas McCallister (Patrick Scott McDermott), who has been sentenced to be hanged after accidentally killing a rancher.
After breaking him out of jail, Harland and his grandson head toward Mexico, but “must outrun the determined U.S. Marshal Wood Helm (Josh Hopkins) and a ruthless bounty hunter named Preacher (Travis Fimmel),” per Variety.
