‘The Bachelor’ Season 29 finale recap: Did Grant Ellis get engaged to Juliana Pasquarosa or Litia Garr? Decider’s recapping the live finale and After the Final Rose.
The most dramatic night in Bachelor Season 29 history has officially arrived, and at long last, fans know who (if anyone!) Grant Ellis proposed to at the end of his journey.
Ahead of his season premiere, Grant told Decider, “I’m really happy. I couldn’t imagine it being any other way now that I’m going through this process and learning about myself. Everything that’s been unfolding in my life, and the lessons that I’ve learned — I’m really grateful.”
Positive vibes aside, ABC and franchise host Jesse Palmer have been teasing Grant’s dramatic ending from the start, with finale teasers showing the lead unsure of which girl to choose mere minutes before the proposal. “It’s not often that you’re dating multiple people at once. That was a first for me,” Grant told Decider. “And the women were so great this season, that the choice was difficult. Throughout the season, you’ll see the connections form. And I’ll leave it up to the viewer to decide what their opinion is. But for me, I really tried to take my time and make sure I made the right choice.”
So did Grant make the right choice? Is he engaged to Juliana Pasquarosa or Litia Garr? Or is he single today? Which of the top fan theories was correct? And how did the finale and After the Final Rose live event play out? We’ve got answers.

Before the final one-on-one dates of the season commenced, Grant caught up with his mom Renee, his dad Robert, and his sister Taylor for the first time as a family since his parents got divorced. First up? Litia, who Grant said, “I picture being my wife. She’s loving, patient, kind, beautiful — and she’s ready.”
After catching the family up on their Bachelor journey, Grant’s mom and Litia had some one-on-one time where Litia answered all of her tough questions perfectly. She assured Grant’s mom that she was in love with her son, wanted to move somewhere neutral and start a life together after the show, and would definitely say “yes!” to a proposal. Then, Litia chatted with Grant’s dad and assured him that she couldn’t wait to have children and start a family. Before the date ended, Grant and his dad shared some emotional one-on-one time together, where Grant shared that his only reservation with Litia was her timeline for children, which was one or two years sooner than his. His dad encouraged him not to let that one holdup “stop the show, and before Litia left, Grant told her that he could definitely see her being with his family. He said that the day only reaffirmed that he loved her. And Litia told him she loved him as well, then revealed it was the first time she’s ever said that to anyone. “After today, I’m the most confident that I’ll be engaged after this week. Mrs. Ellis,” she told cameras.
Next up? Juliana, who was feeling a bit anxious ahead of the day, only because she and Grant hadn’t told each other they were in love yet. Because of that, Grant’s biggest fear was that she wouldn’t be 100% ready for an engagement. But fear not! His mom was ready to straight-up ask. After catching the fam up on their journey and the emotional connections they shared over Grant’s lone wolf tattoo, Juliana and stepped away to chat with Grant’s mom who sensed Juliana’s “vibrant, positive energy” and felt “that she brings peace to Grant’s life.” When she asked if Juliana was ready for an engagement, however, Juliana explained the two hadn’t said “I love you” yet, so she wasn’t sure she would get there in time. When Juliana spoke with Grant’s dad, however, she asked a telling question about Grant’s low points in life that was a major green flag. Grant’s dad told his son he was safe with Juliana, but his mom advised him “to walk away from that” if Juliana wasn’t able to say “I love you” to him. After walking Juliana out, Grant decided to take the leap and drop the L-word. In response, Juliana said, “I love you too and I want it to be you and I at the end of this.” AWWWWWW.
On top of the heartwarming moments with his Top 2 women, Grant also shared an emotional conversation with his dad that will go down in Bachelor Nation history as one of the greatest things to come out of the franchise.
After Litia and Juliana met the parents, they embarked on their final intimate one-on-one dates with Grant in the Dominican Republic. The dates kicked off with an excited and anxious Juliana facing her fears of being hurt and meeting up with him for a day out on the water.
