The mural was initially defaced on April 29. Created by artist Louie «Sloe» Motion, the tribute was first painted in the wake of the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Kobe, Gigi, and seven others back in January 2020.
For the past five years, there were no incidents with it; now, for the second time in less than two months, there have been multiple instances of vandalism.
A man who passed by the mural commented on what he witnessed.
«I was driving home from work, when [out of] the corner of my eye, I thought I saw what I am unfortunately seeing right now», a man said.
