How the News Networks Covered the Iranian Nuclear Facilities Strikes

Special coverage extended into Sunday for the cable news networks.
The various news networks jumped into breaking news mode on Saturday evening following President Donald Trump’s announcement that the U.S. had struck three Iranian nuclear facilities.
The news networks followed the announcement with live coverage of the president’s address to the nation that night around 10 p.m. ET (all times Eastern), where he vowed that there would be more forceful consequences should Iran retaliate.
Coverage continued on Sunday morning when Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth held a press conference where he provided additional details of the attack, saying, “The scope of this was intentionally limited.”
With the first weekend of summer in full effect and the majority of the country under a heat dome, the weather was expected to be the top story of the weekend. This was supposed to be true, considering Trump attempted to defuse the U.S.’s involvement in the Israeli-Iranian conflict by saying he would make a decision within the next two weeks.
However, shortly before 8 p.m., the president announced the military strikes on social media, describing them as a “very successful attack.” CNN had the news up at 7:52 p.m. with anchor Jessica Dean relaying the information.
