Controversial AI-generated band The Velvet Sundown has sparked growing concern among musicians and listeners alike as it poses a threat to displace human creativity with artificial creation.
The Velvet Sundown, which entered the music scene seemingly out of nowhere in early June, easily gained more than 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
Upon the band’s debut, the music platform did not disclose that they were AI-generated, despite their mediocre music style, hyper-realistic images, and lack of a digital footprint.
At the time, the supposed rock band, which has already released two albums, slammed the AI-generated claims by emphasizing that their music is as human as it can be.
