The third entry in the Dying Light series, The Beast, will no longer launch in August as Techland announces an unfortunate delay to its release date.
Dying Light: The Beast will no longer release in August, as developer Techland has said it needs an additional four weeks of polishing time to make this «the best Dying Light game we’ve ever released.» Dying Light: The Beast was initially going to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on August 22, followed by a last-gen release later in the year, but will now be launching on September 19. It’s unclear if the game’s release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has also been affected by this delay.
Initially, Dying Light: The Beast started out as a DLC for Dying Light 2. However, after eager fans managed to leak some story elements for the game’s second DLC, Techland says it began toying with the idea of bringing back Kyle Crane, the protagonist of the original Dying Light. The idea then turned into something much larger than a DLC, and Dying Light: The Beast was born.
