‘Today’s Jenna Bush Hager addressed the «devastating» floods that have struck her home state of Texas.
Jenna Bush Hager spoke out in support of her home state of Texas during Monday’s broadcast of Today With Jenna & Friends, where devastating floods have claimed the lives of over 80 people so far.
“Our hearts are heavy this morning,” she said.
One area of Texas that was tragically impacted by the flood was Camp Mystic where 27 children and counsellors are confirmed to be dead. Bush Hager appeared emotional as she revealed her mother once worked as a counselor at Camp Mystic, which she described to be a “spiritual, beautiful place.”
She continued, “There is a camp that my mom actually was a counselor at called Camp Mystic which many of my friends went to. It sort of was a place that raised so many girls to become women.”
Bush Hager then turned to her guest host Dwayne Wade as she said, “As parents, we think about the horror of sending our kids to a place that is supposed to be – and is – healing, and fun and joyful, and all of the things that kids deserve to have.
