President Donald Trump has left the White House to go on patrol alongside the police and National Guard in Washington D.C.
President Donald Trump addressed a crowd of gathered National Guard, police officers and federal law enforcement on Thursday night after announcing he planned to join them on patrol in Washington D.C.
Officials laid on stacks of pizzas and burgers for the officers, with Trump telling them that the latter had been cooked by the White House, while the pizzas «are from a good place.»
The president praised the military and law enforcement for their part in his federal crackdown on crime in the capital.
«You people are winners, and I just think it’s such an honor to be with you. We’re going to make Washington, D.C. great again», he told the crowd. «We’ll always be with you. We’re going to be with you for as long as I’m around.»
What To Know
Trump announced he was joining law enforcement on patrol in Washington D.C. tonight, during a radio interview Thursday morning.
It is unclear whether he will walk or drive with the officers and solider on patrol.
Trump began by holding an impromptu, catered event for law enforcement and the National Guard in D.C. where he made a speech praising the federalization of Washington.
«We had a country that was laughed at a year ago. They were they thought, they couldn’t understand what was happening. And it’s about leadership. But we had a country that was a dead country in many ways», he said.
Secretary Burgum, AG Bondi and Judge Jeanine Pirro gave remarks after POTUS thanking law enforcement.
