HyperOS 3 is Xiaomi’s next major software upgrade that’s supposed to bring tons of enhancements, several new features, UI upgrades, and improved overall responsiveness. It will be based on Android 16, which was released by Google in June this year, months earlier than the usual release timeline.
The early arrival of Android 16 should also mean a faster than usual release of HyperOS 3, which will also be based on Android 16. The company hasn’t announced a release date for HyperOS 3 yet. However, according to a recent report, it has already stopped working on HyperOS 2 and is working on the next iteration, HyperOS 3.
According to a reliable Chinese tipster, Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi will start HyperOS 3 beta testing sometime in August. The beta testing typically lasts a few weeks, after which users may start receiving the stable HyperOS 3 update, based on Android 16. We expect the stable rollout to kick off in late September or early October. That’s a guess, by the way.
