Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. faced withering, bipartisan criticism for his anti-vaccine policies at a contentious hearing Thursday on Capitol Hill, reflecting growing anger in Congress over a key issue for President Donald Trump and his «Make America Healthy Again» agenda.
Kennedy sparred with Republicans and Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee over cuts to HHS, changes to federal COVID vaccine policy and other steps that critics on both sides of the aisle say have reduced access to routine vaccines.
«We’re denying people vaccines», Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, a physician and the chair of the Senate health committee who previously voted to confirm Kennedy, told the secretary.
«You’re wrong», Kennedy shot back.
