Samsung May Have Just Clinched The Title For 'Worst Refrigerator' With This New Strategy

Samsung has announced that it is rolling out ads to the Daily Board, Color, and Weather themes on its Family Hub smart fridges, with no way to opt out.
As if Samsung’s fridge reputation wasn’t bad enough (it’s one of the brands many reviewers say you should avoid buying), the company has announced what may end up being the single worst thing about this appliance — or, at least, the version of it that has a built-in screen. A new software update heading out to Samsung’s Family Hub line of refrigerators is bringing with it several new changes, the most notable of which is the addition of ads.
A changelog for the update states that these advertisements — which contradict Samsung’s previous promise to keep ads off its fridges — are intended to «enhance our service and offer additional content to users.» The same changelog reveals that while the Cover Screen Gallery and Art themes won’t be impacted by this change, users in the U.
