Absorb those Slime blows with these great early game armor options in Dragon Quest 2 Remake. Here’s where to find them.
Dragon Quest 2: Luminaries of the Legendary Line was a big upgrade for the series as the first sequel in many ways. For example, the original game was a solo adventure, meaning there were no party members. However, the sequel does have party members, meaning players had to stretch their money, Gold, to equip everyone with the best armor.
It’s a bit easier to find armor in the sequel via Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake. Dragon Quest 2 Remake has a lot of quality of life improvements, but for anyone struggling, here is some armor players should find for their party as soon as possible. It’s one of the better Dragon Quest games, so RPG fans should check it out. The following equipment can be found before getting access to the ship, in the first six hours or so.

Location: Moonbrooke Castle

The Scholar’s Cap can be located easily within a cabinet found in the ruins of Moonbrooke Castle. There’s actually a good weapon next to it, too, the Holy Lance, so players won’t want to miss out on this opportunity.
The Scholar’s Cap is a piece of headgear that will boost Defence along with Wisdom, and it’s rare to find armor this early on that will boost two different stats like this. It’s a very good hat for Peronel, who is the most gifted mage of the party, with Caradoc being the second by default, since the Hero character in Dragon Quest 2 Remake cannot use most magic at the start.
Fizzle-Retardant Blouse

Location: Moonbrooke Castle (B1)

The Fizzle-Retardant Blouse is a great piece of early body armor in the game that can be found within Moonbrooke Castle’s basement.
