Xiaomi reportedly could launch the Mi Band 3 at the same event later this month.
Chinese internet startup Xiaomi seems to be gearing up to launch the third edition of its popular Mi Band fitness tracker. Xiaomi has already sent media invites for its 2018 annual product launch event in Shenzhen to celebrate its eighth anniversary. The company reportedly could launch the Mi Band 3 at the same event later this month.
The Mi Band 3 is expected to flaunt a touchscreen display minus any physical buttons. The company has remains tight-lipped about the specifications and features of Mi Band 3. However, it seems that the Mi Band 3 launch is imminent as the company took to Twitter to tease the upcoming bling.
As for the event, a report by
Gizmochina states that Xiaomi is going to launch a variety of products along with its 2018 flagship smartphone. The company is reportedly selling tickets for the event at a price of between 799 Yuan and 1,999 Yuan. The event seems to be a big affair for Xiaomi as the company is claimed to have decided a venue that could seat around 5,000 people.
Xiaomi is also confirmed to launch a new ‘selfie-centric’ smartphone in India on June 7. Meanwhile, the company had recently launched the first products under its ‘Mi Crowdfunding’ platform in India —- Mi Bluetooth audio receiver and selfie stick tripod. The Bluetooth audio receiver is priced at Rs 999 while the selfie stick tripod is priced at Rs 1,099.
The Bluetooth audio receiver is a basically an adapter which converts any wired earphones, headphones or speakers into a wireless device by providing Bluetooth connectivity. The ‘Mi crowdfunding’ platform was recently introduced in India after China. The platform aims to boost innovation and also helps the company to test-waters and gauge consumer’s reaction before launching them in China and India.
