Apple enthusiasts have been given an unanticipated peek at the design of two of the three new iPhones expected to be introduced by the company in September.
Today, Apple officially announced its massive annual press event will be held on September 12 at The Steve Jobs theatre in Cupertino. There, the company will almost certainly unveil the next generation of iPhone, something they’ve done every September since 2012.
Shortly after the gathering was confirmed, 9to5Mac published what it claims to be an exclusive first glance at two of the three new models expected to be revealed at the Apple Park headquarters.
According to 9to5Mac, the main course of the release will entail two phones, a 5.8-inch and a 6.5-inch OLED device, both to be priced at around $1000 in the US. The publication says it “can report with certainty” that the two OLED smartphones will be called the iPhone XS.
A third phone sporting the same facial-recognition technology but with a lower price tag is also rumoured to be part of the release.
9to5Mac claims the phones will be available in a new gold colour not currently offered with the iPhone X.
No technical specs have substantiated, but a sneak peak at the design of two new iPhones will surely be enough to get the hype train running among hardcore Apple fans.
The Cupertino giant is also expected to launch a new iteration of the Apple Watch.
The invitation features the image of a round, bronze-gold symbol, which has sparked speculation among fans and industry analysts. Could it be a reference to Apple’s headquarters? Or could it be a hint of a new button or camera on the XS? Are they teasing a new HomePod speaker? It seems we will have to wait until the September 12 – if there aren’t any more leaks before the event, that is.
