Red Dead Redemption 2 is filled with things to find out in the wild, including several locations that players must visit to complete the ‘Paying Respects’ trophy.
There are plenty of things to do in Red Dead Redemption 2, from hunting Legendary Animals to gambling the days away. There is one task in particular that has to be done for players to achieve 100% completion, however. Before reading any further in this article, we highly recommend beating the game’s main story to avoid any spoilers, as this article will address some events that happen in the later chapters of the game. To achieve 100% completion, players will have to find the graves of all the companions that fell during the events of the main campaign, so here is where players can find the seven graves for the “Paying Respects” achievement.
To get credit for the achievement, players must walk up and interact with the grave. This list goes from North to South across Red Dead Redemption 2‘s expansive map, so it will be easy for players to go from grave-t0-grave. First on the list of graves is Jenny Kirk, who died during the journey through the snow-covered mountains. Her grave is located in the far north of the map, in Spider Gorge just East of the river.
Davey was wounded during the Blackwater heists, and died as the gang traveled through the mountains. Davey’s grave is located in Polter, the town that the gang stays in during the opening part of the game. His grave can be found behind the broken-down church. While players are up in this area, they should consider tracking down the White Arabian horse if they haven’t already.
Eagle Flies suffers a mortal wound during the raid on the oil refinery, and dies after being returned to his father. His grave can be found on the left cliffs of Donner Falls, overlooking the beautiful waterfall.
Red Dead Redemption 2‘s main protagonist suffers a terrible fate during the events of the game. Much like the original Red Dead Redemption, players take on a new persona in the game’s epilogue. Since Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place before the first game, it only makes sense that players take control of John Marston to finish out the game. John can find Arthur’s grave behind the “Mysterious Home” if players climb the hill.
Miss Grimshaw meets her end near the end of the game at the hands of Micah Bell, and is buried near where the last camp was set up. Players will find it in New Hanover, Southwest of the Elysian Pools on a cliff nearby.
These two fan-favorite characters were buried side-by-side just north of the illustrious and mysterious Saint Denis following the bank robbery that went south. Players should make sure they interact with both graves, as they both count toward the achievement.
Kieran was the most recent addition to the gang after Arthur and company took him hostage from the O’Driscolls. Kieran grew to be a lovable character over time, and he even taught Arthur a little about Legendary Fish, but he ultimately met his end at the hands of the O’Driscolls. His grave is west of Shady Belle in the middle of a field.
The last grave players need to find is for Sean MacGuire. The cocky Irishman met his end in Rhodes after the Grays and the Braithwaites turn on the gang. His grave can be found near the location of the camp, due west of the Southfield Flats in a bunch of trees.
Those are all of the graves needed to complete the “Paying Respects” achievement. While it’s disappointing that John doesn’t make any comment about his fallen companions, especially Arthur, it’s a nice touch from Rockstar to add the graves in for players to find. Hopefully if Red Dead Redemption 2 gets single-player DLC, it will cover what happened to those who survived their time in the Van der Linde gang.
