Withings has a new fitness tracker offering automatic activity tracking, heart rate and sleep monitioring
Withings — having regained the brand from Nokia — has announced a new fitness tracker, the Withings Pulse HR.
The Pulse HR sticks to conventional fitness tracker design, offering a band style with display, positioned to compete with devices like the Fitbit Charge 3. It uses premium materials, with a stainless steel case back, aluminium hinges and a protective polycarbonate coating across the top.
The Withings device has an OLED display for smartphone notifications and data, while an array of sensors will give you automatic detection of different activities — swimming, running, walking, and lots more — while sleep and steps are also tracked.
You can also track your heart rate throughout the day, and have continuous heart rate tracking during activities, with over 30 different activities supported.
The Withings Pulse HR is waterproof to 50m so it’s fine for swimming. GPS is «connected» GPS rather than having its own hardware, so you’ll need to use your smartphone to get accurate location data.
All your data is synced to the Health Mate app so you can analyse what you’ve been up to, check the quality of your sleep, and get advice and feedback. The Withings Pulse HR has a 20 day battery life and can be charges in around 2 hours.
The Withings Pulse HR is now available for pre-order for £119.95 and will be available from 28 November.
