In India, the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 could take on the likes of Redmi Note 6 Pro.
Asus has finally announced to launch the ZenFone Max Pro M2 gaming smartphone in Indonesia at an event scheduled to happen on December 11. This successor to the ZenFone Max Pro M1, and is also expected to hit the Indian stores soon after it’s launched in Indonesia. Ahead of the launch, the full specifications and the pictures of the ZenFone Max Pro M2 have been leaked. In addition, Asus is also reportedly working on the successor to the ZenFone Max M1 aka ZenFone Max M2 and the phone is also expected to launch very soon.
Unlike the ZenFone Max Pro M1, the Max Pro M2 is a gaming smartphone and is expected to come with gaming-focused software feature as we had previously seen on the Honor Play. The full specs details of the upcoming Asus were leaked and the pictures showing the complete design of the phone also surfaced online.
The leak reveals that the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 will be powered by an octa-core 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE processor which is also found inside the Vivo V11 Pro, V9 Pro and others. In addition to the powerful performance, another highlight of the Asus phone will be its three rear camera setup. The primary sensor of the camera setup is said to be 13-megapixel.
The leak also suggests that the Asus phone will come packed with a 6-3inch IPS LCD display and a Full HD+ screen resolution. The phone is expected to come in three configurations, the base model with 4GB of RAM/64GB storage, the second model with 4GB RAM with 128GB storage and lastly the top end version of the ZenFone Max Pro M2 may come with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The octa-core 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE processor will make the Asus phone much more powerful than other phones in the same price segment. If the price of the ZenFone Max Pro M1 is considered, the Max M2 could be cost around Rs 15,000 and take on the likes of the Redmi Note 6 Pro, which is set to launch in India on November 22. Just like the ZenFone Max Pro M1, the Redmi Note 6 Pro could also be priced between Rs 15,000 to Rs 17,000.
On the software front, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 may run the latest Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box. This will make the ZenFone Max Pro M2 the first Asus phone to run Google’s latest Android OS.
