Obi-Wan finally arrives in Battlefront 2 with the free Battle of Geonosis DLC.
The update is due to go live on November 28 and will feature the Clone Wars version of Obi-Wan Kenobi, rather than Alec Guinness’ Old Ben Kenobi.
Obi-Wan’s moves will focus mostly on defence and chained melee attacks with his blue lightsaber, as well as some Jedi mind powers.
He has an ability called Defensive Rush which allows him to charge ahead while easily deflecting blaster shots and damaging any enemies in front of him. You’ll also be able to chain this into a powerful melee attack.
There’s also the Restrictive Mind Trick ability which disrupts an opponents abilities for a short time, as well as an improved version of Luke Skywalker’s All-Out Force Push.
He’ll come with the standard Jedi Master appearance, as well as unlockable Robed and General Kenobi skins that you can use in-game Credits or Crystals to get.
The Battle for Geonosis will have two phases and mimics the scenes from Attack of the Clones. Vehicles are at the heart of the gameplay with objectives dotted all over the map with the aim of creating a vast, open battlefield – a battlefront, if you will – for players to recreate one of the best battles in the franchise.
A new map for Geonosis and three new vehicles will be coming to Battlefront 2, including the six-legged AT-TE which, combined with the addition of General Grievous in October, is set to make for some interesting gameplay.
