Vice President Mike Pence encourages Democrats to work with President Trump to come to a compromise that will end the government shutdown.
During a recent interview with Margaret Brennan on “Face the Nation,” Vice President Mike Pence spoke out in support of border security and President Donald Trump’s compromise to end the government shutdown.
Pence claimed that the new plan was decided after the Trump administration met with Democrat lawmakers to fund the border wall.
“And what the president articulated yesterday was a good faith, common sense compromise where the president laid out his priorities: building a physical barrier on the southern border — a steel barrier — new resources for border patrol, humanitarian assistance technology. But the president also announced that he’d be willing to support legislation that provides temporary relief, three years of temporary legal status for those in the [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals] DACA program and also those who have temporary protective status.
