With a May launch now officially locked into the calendar, all that’s left to do is wait for LG’s upcoming high-end mid-ranger — the design-led, 5G-capable LG Velvet — to actually arrive.
The LG Velvet looks to be the South Korean tech giant changing tack, with regards to its smartphone portfolio in 2020 and the company might not be alone in that regard.

Unlike the hardware-led G and V-Series phones of the last few years, the LG Velvet will be the first of the company’s recent handsets to pull away from such a hardware-first approach. This faux-flagship instead places a greater emphasis on aesthetics and design, while still impressing with premium features like 5G connectivity and support for LG’s established dual-screen accessories.
