Here are details of the five new Xbox One games set for release between June 29 and July 3,2020.
At first glance, there isn’t much to be excited about on Xbox One next week. At second glance, it looks pretty threadbare too.
If you miss the great outdoors – and who doesn’t right now – Hunting Simulator 2 transports players to a range of beautiful locations including Texas, Colorado, and Europe. And while you’re there, take the opportunity to slaughter 33 different types of animal. Fun times, we’re sure.
Also coming to Xbox One next week is The Otterman Empire. It’s a collection of rambunctious multiplayer party games with jetpacks, and otters. It looks chaotic, vibrant, and quite good fun.
Other new releases include retro run-and-gun homage Clash Force, fantasy RPG Alphadia Genesis, and construction destruction sandbox, Demolish and Build.
Each new release can be purchased from the Xbox One digital games store and Microsoft online store.
If none of these games appeal, read about the big Xbox One Super Savings Sale, this weekend’s Free Play Days promotion, and the latest Game Pass releases.

Vblank Entertainment has announced that top-down retro-style open-world action game Shakedown: Hawaii will be released on Nintendo Wii and Nintendo Wii U this summer.
Shakedown: Hawaii, Brian Provinciano’s acclaimed follow-up to Retro City Rampage, is coming to two new platforms. Or should that be two old platforms?
The game will be released for the Nintendo Wii in July and Nintendo Wii U in August. In a post on the Vblank website, Provinciano says:
“I’m no stranger to porting games to discontinued platforms, even when I know they won’t see the light of day. It’s just something I enjoy. The older the platform, the more fun it is! The cleverer I need to be! The more ways I’ll need to figure out how to optimize things! However, for fun or not, if there’s even a small chance that a port can be released, I’ll do all the legwork I can to try and make that happen.”
The Wii version supports both 50hz and 60hz and both NTSC and PAL 4:3 display output. However, due to limited manufacturing capability, the game will only be released in Europe. Provinciano highlights the support he received from NOE in making the release possible. The Wii edition supports the Wii Remote, Wii Classic Controller, Wii Classic Controller Pro, and GameCube Controller.
Nintendo Wii U players can choose between 4:3 and 16:9 display, and go on a rampage with the Wii U GamePad, Wii U Pro Controller, Wii Remote, Wii Classic Controller, or Wii Classic Controller Pro. The game can also be played entirely on the GamePad, which includes touch screen controls.
As Provinciano says, he has a long history of porting his work to as many platforms as possible. Following its launch in 2012, Retro City Rampage was eventually released on 3DS, Android, iOS, Linux, Mac, PS3, PS4, PSP PS Vita, Xbox 360 (inc. Xbox One), Wii, Windows, and even DOS.
Shakedown: Hawaii will be released for Nintendo Wii on July 9, with the Wii U version to follow in August. To find out more about the making of these ports, head over to the Vblank website.
