Former Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) President Carlos Arthur Nuzman has been sentenced to 30 years and 11 months in prison for alleged corruption, money laundering and tax evasion. Judge Marcelo Bretas said the 79-year-old played a leading role in a scheme to buy votes for Rio de Janeiro to host the 2016 «The reasons that led Carlos Nuzman to criminal practices are highly reproachable,» Bretas said in the ruling.
