The man who was beaten to death by a stranger at the Husseini Islamic Center near Sanford last week has been identified as Mahmood Al Taee,59, of Longwood, deputies said. Al Taee, who worked at the Islamic center, was found dead by another staff member early Thursday morning. Deputies said he was bludgeoned during a confrontation with 38-year-old Ahmed Raslan, who was later shot by Indian River County deputies outside a Vero Beach Sam’s Club.
