Call of Duty Zombies fans are unhappy with a new version of Richtofen that will be an unlockable cosmetic, criticizing several parts of the design.
Call of Duty Zombies has a passionate fan base that is attached to numerous characters from the mode’s story, with one of the most popular of all being Edward Richtofen. As such, it is not all that surprising that Call of Duty Zombies fans are bothered by his latest appearance in Call of Duty Mobile, as any big changes to a beloved character’s appearance will always be a recipe for controversy.
Edward Richtofen, like fellow Zombies icons Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, and Takeo Masaki, debuted in the Call of Duty: World at War map Shi No Numa. One of the rare cases where players got to play as the villain, the other characters followed Richtofen’s orders until he was eventually able to gain control of the undead. Once he did, earth was plunged into an apocalypse, with the psychotic doctor torturing survivors in various games. However, Ultimis Richtofen is not the only version of the character, and fans are not very happy with the latest take on him.
