Summer is streaming season, and Netflix has lots of new stuff to binge, from must-see anime to dramas and more
The world of streaming media is changing in numerous ways, and Netflix is no exception. The platform’s greatest asset is variety, with shows and movies for just about every audience, and this month is a great illustration of that philosophy.
In addition to hit reality TV for the Western audience, like Love Island: UK and documentaries about stuff like Barbie and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, the streamer is also debuting movies and shows from Thailand, India, Mexico, France, Korea, and more. The fascinating post-apocalyptic fantasy returns for a third and final season. Sweet Tooth follows the journey of Gus, a human-deer hybrid in a world ravaged by a global pandemic called the Sick. Along with a group of mismatched companions, Gus comes into conflict with the Last Men, a cadre of human-hunting hybrids, as well as a scientist working to find a cure. In the new season, we’re promised the truth about the hybrids and a conclusion to Gus’s quest.Baki Hanma Vs Kengan Ashura (June 6)
Two of the greatest fighting anime series of all time cross over in a battle for ultimate sweaty supremacy. Baki Hanma Vs. Kengan Ashura brings the toughest brawlers from both franchises into the Underground Arena to test their techniques in bloody, bone-breaking clashes. Don’t expect a ton of emotional depth here, just intense violence and dramatic internal monologues. Sometimes that’s all you need!Doctor Climax (June 13)
