A GiveSendGo fundraiser created for UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s alleged shooter Luigi Mangione has over $800 in donations.
An online fundraiser created to raise money for Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old suspect in UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s shooting death, has more than tripled since the Ivy League grad was taken into police custody Monday.
A GiveSendGo page created by The December 4th Legal Committee in Stone Harbor, New Jersey, set a fundraising goal of $50,000 to help with Mangione’s legal fees.
Mangione, 26, appeared in court Monday evening after he was arrested in a McDonalds in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on unrelated gun charges.
According to court documents filed in Blair County, Mangione has been charged with forgery, carrying a firearm without a license, tampering with records or identification, possession of instruments of crime, and providing false identification to law enforcement.
At the time of publication, the fundraiser has raised over $800 towards its goal from 52 donors. Before his arrest, the funds totaled $110.
