Investigation reopened after being shut down by Biden ‘for political reasons’
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has raided the home of former National Security Advisor John Bolton as part of a national security investigation, the New York Post reported Friday.
Federal agents arrived at Bolton’s residence in Bethesda, Maryland, at 7 a.m. Friday morning, the order coming directly from FBI Director Kash Patel, according to the Post. Bolton, who served as a national security advisor during President Donald Trump’s first term, was previously under investigation for misuse of classified documents; that probe was dropped under former President Joe Biden.
“This is related to a national security investigation of Mr. Bolton that was shut down by the Biden administration for political reasons,” a source familiar with the raid told Daily Caller editorial director Vince Coglianese.
