Five Coach USA buses left the Springfield Mall long before the sun rose above the horizon joining the 1.2 million who made their way the day after the presidential inauguration to express their concerns and discontent and to make their voices heard.
Joining in solidarity with a Women’s March on Washington and similar events worldwide, thousands gathered peacefully at Eakins Oval to show support for women’s rights and human rights, and to voice concerns about the administration of President Donald Trump, following his inauguration Friday.
That was just one of the phrases that rang out Saturday morning as thousands of women, men and families swarmed Logan Circle and spilled out onto Benjamin Franklin Parkway for the Women’s March on Philadelphia.
The woman sitting across from Jennifer Lopez was on a one-way road heading toward state prison. A native of Chester County who had accrued three arrests for petty crimes over the years, the woman had been in and out of the county’s criminal justice system over and over again. All of her sentences had involved only probation, but because she continued to violate the terms of that supervision, she’d gone back and forth to county prison so many times that it seemed there was a revolving door for her.
State Sen. Anthony Williams, D-8, and Lady B from radio station WRNB 100.3 moderated a panel discussion inviting police chiefs, elected officials and concerned citizens to create an open dialogue to improve relationships within communities and foster peace among them.
A judge has ordered two medical facilities that treated a Conshohocken man for various reasons before and after he allegedly fatally stabbed his aunt in December to release his medical records to Montgomery County detectives.
A Philadelphia man who disseminated intimate images, via emails and a blog, of a married Upper Dublin woman he met online, has been ordered by a judge to “cease and desist” his conduct and he’s placed under court supervision. William T. McKinlay, 55, of the 900 block of Marcella Street, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to four years’ probation after he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of harassment and unlawful dissemination of intimate images in connection with the May 2015 incident.
Dave Hakstol was asked Saturday about his goalies, the seemingly indiscernable Steve Mason and Michal Neuvirth. It was the usual coaching quiz about which goalie might play the bulk of the time the rest of the way; whether Hakstol would go the traditional “No. 1 and backup” goalie route, or might lean more toward a rotation.
