Several eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 were closed in El Cerrito Tuesday afternoon to allow a California Highway Patrol helicopter to land and transport the victim of a rollover vehicle crash, officials said.
According to preliminary CHP information, a Brown Nissan Altima and a Black Toyota Camry were involved in an accident on Interstate 80 near Central Avenue, blocking two eastbound lanes.
The crash was a rollover, according to a tow truck driver on the scene.
All eastbound lanes were shut down just before 4 p.m. so a medical helicopter could land and transport one of the vehicle occupants to John Muir Medical Center .
By 4: 35 p.m., all lanes were reopened, according to CHP.
