The rumours are predicting an iPhone 8 release in October to celebrate 10 years of the iPhone. But how much will iPhone 8 deals cost?
There’s going to be an iPhone 8 Plus and it’s going to be expensive, but maybe no more expensive than last year’s Plus-sized iPhone it turns out.
That’s because we expect the iPhone 8 Plus to be Apple’s next iterative update to the phablet-sized smartphone, leaving the iPhone X to the redesign.
That puts the price at about $769, which would carry over the iPhone 7 Plus and it’s $20 increase over the 6S. It’s the biggest phone in size, but a lot cheaper than any of the iPhone X deals.
While Apple could switch the price up at the last second, we’ll know for sure today at its ‘Special Event’ in Cupertino, California.
We predict the new iPhone 8 Plus will cost around $769 in the US, with Apple looking to deliver an entry-level 5.5-inch display with a basic specs bump.
The best news is that Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and other US carriers will offer iPhone 8 Plus deals at launch for new customers.
They’ll also break the price into monthly payments, so you’ll likely be paying $32.08 a month for 24 months if you go with a carrier like Verizon.
iPhone 8 deals and price are always followed by release date questions. But we have a better idea on when this one will come out.
Today is Apple’s official iPhone 8 launch event. iPhone 8 Plus pre-orders should therefore start this week, Friday, September 15. It’s always the Friday directly after an Apple press conference.
The real release date would then be set for Friday, September 22, or, if Apple needs another week to ship its phones, September 29.
By then, you should be able to give Apple your $769 and find carrier-based deals as soon as next Friday, September 22. We’ll update this page with all of them later today.
While we gave you three potential prices, we actually predict that two of the three are correct, and the iPhone 8 deals will start at $1,000.
The other price that may come true is the $1,100 level for a larger storage size. At $1,000, you may get a 128GB iPhone 8, but a 256GB model could fetch an extra $100, giving you a bill of $1,100.
You’ll experience less sticker shock if you opt for the $42 a month over 24 months price, or about $34 a month for 30 months with AT&T.
