Curtis announces her role in the new ‘Halloween’ film in classic style Friday.
Get ready to scream again. Jamie Lee Curtis is returning as her famed horror heroine Laurie Strode for a new Halloween film next year.
Curtis, 58, tweeted the news on Friday with a picture of her standing on the front porch in Haddonfield, Illinois, home of the past Halloween films.
«Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween,» Curtis wrote, promoting the new film’s release date of Oct. 19,2018.
Blumhouse Productions also marked the return on Twitter for the Halloween film which will be directed by David Gordon Green.
Curtis first played Laurie Strode in director John Carpenter’s Halloween in 1978, fending off the attacks of the mask-wearing mental patient murderer Michael Myers.
Curtis also played Strode in Halloween II (1981), Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998) and Halloween: Resurrection (2002). Curtis also appeared in Ryan Murphy’s Fox horror comedy Scream Queens.
