Professional athletes want to join music mogul Sean Combs’ plan to buy a professional football team.
Combs, known as Diddy, has expressed interest on social media about buying the Carolina Panthers.
Golden State Warriors’ star Steph Curry and quarterback Colin Kaepernick also said that they would be interested in ownership.
Diddy said he would like to sign Kaepernick, who has been unable to get on another team and drawn national controversial for protesting during the national anthem.
On Sunday team owner Jerry Richardson said in a statement that he will put the team up for sale at the conclusion of this NFL season. He added that the team will neither begin the sale process nor entertain any inquiries until «the very last game is played.»
The NFL awarded Richardson, a former player with the Baltimore Colts, an expansion franchise in 1993, and he has been the team’s only owner.
