An Anne Arundel County Circuit Court judge sentenced Johnathan Simms on Tuesday to 18 months in prison for the negligent manslaughter death of Louisa Donner. He was also sentenced to five years of probation and 500 hours of community service.
Police said a trooper tried to stop Simms for speeding. Simms was trying to elude police during an April 2016 pursuit when he crashed into a vehicle driven by Donner on Aviation Boulevard in Glen Burnie. State police said the trooper ended the pursuit when speeds reached 90 mph.
Donner was the sole occupant of the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
