Days Gone has been delayed to 2019. It was originally slated to be released sometime in 2018. The official site for Days Gone currently states that the PS4 exclusive will be arriving a year later than what was initially scheduled. USGamer reached out to Sony earlier today and they had this to say: » Days Gone will now be releasing in 2019 and we will keep you updated on the launch date.»
Days Gone is an upcoming open-world action-adventure game developed by Bend Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Players will assume the role of Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter struggling to survive in a world devastated by a global pandemic two years ago.
Initially announced at E3 2016, Days Gone is set to be Bend Studios’ first new IP since the first Syphon Filter was released almost 20 years ago in 1999. The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 4, which powers other technically impressive games like Dragon Ball FighterZ and the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3.
The game will offer an open-world environment for players to explore. During E3 2017, we were given the privilege of an early preview of Days Gone. The game will feature several unique elements including various weather patterns which affect the traction of Deacon’s bike, as well as different types of enemies appearing at different times of the day.
Players will also have to worry about their how much gas they have left in the tank to avoid becoming stranded and becoming fodder for Freakers, which are what the zombies in Days Gone are referred to. The game will give players the freedom to play however they want. Bend Studios developer Ron Allen said: “Scenarios can play out in a number of ways, depending on who and what are involved.»
Days Gone will probably have some kind of presence at the upcoming E3 2018 in June. We hope to see more of the game soon, at least to tide us over until its eventual release in 2019.
