Today, Reddit has announced that its new visual update will be rolling out to select users. The full rollout will happen over the coming weeks and will also offer up new features for the website.
Towards the beginning of last month, Reddit announced that it would roll out of a new design for its website. Today, the company has announced that a small percentage of its users would be getting a look at the redesigned desktop site. The test is being performed so that the team can evaluate server load and will make the new design available to all through an opt-in process.
If you aren’t a Reddit user or have yet to see the update, the site has examples of what the site will like in Card, Classic, and Compact. Luckily, if you aren’t someone that likes the new look, you can always revert to the old style by selecting the look through a banner at the top of the page or by navigating to old.reddit.com. Reddit states that it has no plans currently to get rid of the look of the old site.
While things might look good, they are far from being complete. The new look isn’t fully fleshed out yet and all the current features are not available. However, the team is working on it, along with some other long-requested features like night mode and keyboard shortcuts. The aforementioned and other new features should arrive within the coming weeks.
If you want to leave feedback, you can do so in r/redesign community.
