Motorola has now announced its new Moto G6 lineup in Sao Paolo. It includes the all-new Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play. The latter is the cheapest of the lot and starts at $149 (Rs 9,850) for the base model. The Moto G6, on the other hand, is priced at $249 (Rs 16,500).
Motorola finally debuted its new lineup of smartphones at an event in Sao Paolo, Brazil. It includes the new Moto G range and budget Moto E lineup. Just like previous years, Lenovo-owned Motorola has launched a host of smartphones under its G series, which include the Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and Moto G6 Plus.
The all new Moto G6 lineup isn’t a major overhaul over its predecessor. It’s more of a modest update with the new phones coming with the latest hardware. With that said, the most highlighting improvement in the Moto G6 is in its display. All three devices namely the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play come with an 18:9 aspect ratio display panel. Albeit, the Moto G6 Play being the cheapest feature a display with a slightly lower resolution.
Design-wise, all three Motorola smartphones are nearly identical. They feature a metal unibody construction with a slab of glass on the back. Among the three, the Moto G6 features a dual rear camera. The setup comprises a 12MP and 5MP sensor backed by Phase Detection Autofocus. Incidentally, Motorola has laid out many details regarding the specs of its Moto G6 Plus. The smartphone will be available primarily in South America, and in most cases won’t be making its way to international markets. The cheaper Moto G6 Play, on the other hand, comes with a single 8MP rear shooter.
Motorola plans to make the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play available by the end of spring, which is sometime around May or June. As for the price, the Moto G6 and G6 Play will retail at $249 and $199 respectively for the base end variant. Most importantly, these two smartphones would be available globally in all its international markets. The Moto G6 Plus, on the contrary, will make its debut earlier than the other two, with Brazil being the first country to have it on sale starting today. Besides, the smartphone will launch in Mexico next week and is expected to make its way to Asia Pacific, Europe, and Latin America.
