For those that were hoping that Nintendo’s latest hybrid console would offer some other entertainment options – the answer is sadly, no. Nintendo has confirmed that the Switch will not launch with any streaming services.
The folks at IGN were able to get an official statement from a Nintendo rep which drives home the point that the Switch is a gaming system, not a tablet.
While this might be a bit of a bummer for now, Nintendo has not ruled out the possibility that the console will offer streaming apps in the future.
