The Japanese Coast Guard is aiding the U. S. in the search for the missing crew members.
President Donald Trump on Saturday sent «thoughts and prayers» to the seven missing U. S. Navy crew members and their families after an American destroyer collided with a container ship off the coast of Japan.
«Thoughts and prayers with the sailors of USS Fitzgerald and their families. Thank you to our Japanese allies for their assistance, » Trump wrote on Twitter.
The USS Fitzgerald destroyer collided a Philippine-registered container ship in the early hours of Saturday morning.
