Here's who traveled from around America to help Houston in their Harvey relief efforts

Emergency organizations and private groups from around the nation have come to Houston to provide relief aid to local officials in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Harvey.
Emergency organizations and private groups from around the nation have come to Houston to provide relief aid to local officials in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
Within Texas alone, more than 150 organizations and groups providing supplies from all over Texas flocked to Houston this week, according to a situation report provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The entire Texas National Guard – about 12,000 troops – were sent to coastal areas, including Houston, on Monday to assist those affected by the storm. Their machinery included 16 aircraft, 200 humvees, 218 high-water vehicles, 15 wreckers and 19 fuelers.
Support from outside the state came in as well, including several emergency crews from various states, including California, New York and Louisiana. Go through the gallery above to see the crews from around the nation that made their way to the Lone Star State to help with recovery efforts.

As for the nation’s military presence in Texas, The Washington Post reports that thirty-nine helicopters and seven planes from the American Coast Guard are spread between operating bases in Houston and New Orleans. The U. S. Army and Air Force sent a “rescue package” that included nine helicopters, two cargo planes as well as pararescue teams. The Navy sent Norfolk-based helicopter crews to Houston and the Marines were working on sending inflatable boats, 7-ton trucks and Huey helicopters for relief efforts.
