The iPhone X surprised some people with its starting price of (just) under a grand — many were expecting Apple to break the $1,000 barrier even with the base model. It wasn’t all good news on the price front, though. As well as hiking the cost of AppleCare+ for some devices, Apple also raised the price of some iPad Pro models.
With no announcement, the price of the 256GB and 512GB 10.5 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models have jumped by $50.Apple has not given a reason, but the increased price of memory has been suggested as a possibility.
The price increase sees the 256GB 10.5-inch iPad Pro rise to $799 (up from $749) . The 512GB 10.5-inch model jumps to $999 (up from $949) . There is a similar increase for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The 256GB model now costs $949 (up from $899) and the 512GB model costs $1149 (up from $1099) .
Apple has not changed the price of the 64GB models, which remain fixed at $649 for the 10.5-inch screen, and $799 for the 12.9-inch.
These prices are all for Wi-Fi only models. If you’re interested in a cellular iPad Pro, you’ll need to add a further $130 in each case.
