That’s the name that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West chose for their 5-day-old daughter, who joins big sister North, 4, and big brother Saint, 2.
Born by surrogate, Chicago already has a nickname — Chi — as seen in a tweet by the newborn’s aunt. “I love her name…. hey Chi (shy),” Khloe Kardashian wrote.
So what’s in a name? Here are five explanations for the moniker.

The good: It’s a thriving city boasting bold and great architecture, museums, theater and more.
The bad: But the city’s also nicknamed Chiraq due to high crime rates and is home to a baseball team that took 108 years to win the World Series. And every time Chicago West passes gas, she’s a Windy City punchline waiting to happen.
The good: Formed in 1967, the group is one of the longest-running and most successful in the music business.
The bad: But do you really want to have any of their hits — “Color My World,” “If You Leave Me Now,” “Saturday in the Park” or “Does Anybody Know What Time It Is” — stuck in your head? We didn’t think so.

The bad: But it’s also a musical that skewers fake celebrity — something that Kim Kardashian can relate to.
The good: The font used in the Macintosh operating system user interface between 1984 and 1997 and was an important part of Apple’s brand identity. It’s also used in early versions of the iPod user interface.
The bad: Today’s it’s obsolete. Kim Kardashian didn’t even use it when she announced her baby’s name.
