Car crashes into vacant house in Fort Pierce

No one was in the home at the time of the crash, Fire District officials said.
FORT PIERCE — A woman was hospitalized after crashing her car into a house early Thursday.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries, St. Lucie Fire District spokeswoman Brenda Stokes said. No other people were in the vehicle.
Rescue personnel were called to the home in the 2600 block of Sunrise Boulevard at 7:42 a.m. Upon arrival, they saw a navy blue four-door sedan had crashed into the house, compromising the structure in one area as concrete caved in.
No one was in the home at the time of the crash.
“(Rescue personnel) don’t believe anybody is living in the house,” Stokes said.
Information on the cause of the crash was not immediately available.
