Apple’s Event on March 27 at the Lane Tech College Prep High School, Chicago is a much-anticipated event and more so, because this year, the company is going to focus on education and tools for teachers/students. In the last six years, this has been the first education-centric event and hence, it is being speculated that Apple may be launching several low-priced models of their products in order to woo the students and teachers alike. Several Apple products are expected to be refreshed this year, keep reading to know everything that is expected to make a debut at the event.
Apple may be planning to launch an affordable iPad aimed at schools. Previous rumours suggest that Apple may go light on the pricing at $250, which is cheaper than the $329 iPad released last year.
There are also reports that Apple may launch a budget-friendly MacBook Air /MacBook. In case the reports stand true then the device would definitely turn out to be a worthy competitor to Google Chromebooks in the educational domain. It is unclear whether Apple is just planning to slash prices on the existing MacBook/MacBook Air or come up with a new model altogether.
It is no secret that the MacBook Air specs definitely need a good revamp as they are quite outdated. It may lose its Retina Display to compensate for a lower-priced model. Price range could be somewhere between $799 to $899, depending on the model. On the other hand, for educational institutions, the price could be reduced even further for fetching bulk orders.
Concerning MacBook, Apple may be working on a new device with a $1000 price-tag to replace the ageing MacBook Air line. Apple may also choose to launch the device later in the year as details about the specs are still hazy.
