Madden 19 Release Date, Latest News, and Cover Star: Everything we know so far about the next instalment in EA Sports’ Madden NFL series.
We also got the news that the game will be receiving a PC release for the first time in a decade.
Last year’s Madden release, Madden 18, was one of the series’ best to date, featuring jaw-dropping graphics and a great new story mode in Longshot.
Fast forward to the 2019 release and the excitement is as high as ever, but tempering the anticipation is uncertainty as to what devotees of the title can expect.
That’s because long-serving EA Sports Madden NFL Creative Director Rex Dickson has decided to call it a day after six years in the role and 12 in total at EA, where he also worked on Medal of Honor.
Dickson issued a statement on Twitter regarding his decision, which includes the cryptic suggestion that the Madden franchise could be heading in a “new direction.”
Quite what that means for Madden 19 remains to be seen, but it’s safe to say a new Creative Director will leave a mark on the series. That said, development of this year’s game is probably in its closing stages, so personnel changes may not be noticeable in the game’s make-up until Madden 20.

Electronic Arts has announced that Madden NFL 19 will be launching on August 10. Those who purchase the Hall of Fame Edition, featuring Terrell Owens on the cover, can play it three days earlier on August 7.

This year’s instalment will include a new animation system, franchise mode and a custom draft class creator for players to delve into. With a new head leading the project this year, we’re eager to see how it shapes up.
