The upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 is looking to depict a immaculately crafted open-world, which means there’ll be all kinds of unique areas to visit. To prove this, Rockstar Games unveiled descriptions of its frontier towns and cities, with no two looking quite alike.
Rockstar leads with Valentine, NH, a rough-and-tumble Heartlands town that attracts traders, ranchers, cowboys, gamblers, outlaws, and prostitutes. Presumably not all of these groups are here for Valentine’s renowned livestock auctions.
Coal mining was a crucial industry in the Wild West, as seen in the mining town of Annesburg. Unfortunately, the working conditions are deadly and the pay is minimal, leaving many families in dire straits.
Saint Denis, LE is a bustling city on a key trade route where people of all cultures and classes live side-by-side. This will not reduce its crime rate, if your character can help it.
Mount Hagen, AM is one of the better known peaks the snowy Grizzlies. It’s also conveniently-located near a mountain pass between Beartooth Beck and the Dakota River.
Rhodes is a seemingly peaceful town that is caught in the crossfire of two warring plantation families. Naturally, you’ll become involved in settling old scores.
Strawberry is a small logging town that whose new Mayor – an “East Coast eccentric” – is transforming into a tourist attraction. The locals aren’t exactly impressed with this approach.
Finally, there’s Lagras – a remote settlement in the Bayou swamps. Most of its citizens live off the land, but travelers seeking to avoid the law might find reason to stick around as well.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26,2018.
