Celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Gerard Butler and Neil Young have shared devastating news that they lost their Malibu homes in the wildfires that hit Southern California.
“Completely devastated by the fires affecting my community. I am one of the lucky ones,” the 25-year-old pop singer, Cyrus, tweeted on Monday. “My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now. “I am grateful for all I have left. Sending so much love and gratitude to the firefighters and LA country Sheriff’s department,” she tweeted in a second post. “If you are interested in getting involved see next tweet… Donate $[money], time, supplies. I love you more than ever, Miley.”

Butler shared a picture of his burnt home on Instagram and wrote that he was inspired by the “courage, spirit and sacrifice of the firefighters.”
“Returned to my house in Malibu after evacuating. Heartbreaking time across California. Inspired as ever by the courage, spirit and sacrifice of firefighters. Thank you @LosAngelesFireDepartment. If you can, support these brave men and women at SupportLAFD.org. Link in bio,” the 48-year-old actor captioned his post.

Neil Young posted on his website that he had also lost his home and wrote that he hoped that “we can come together” to take on “climate change.”
“Firefighters have never seen anything like this in their lives. I have heard that said countless times in the past two days, and I have lost my home before to a California fire, now another,” the 73-year-old singer wrote. “Hopefully we can come together as a people to take climate change on. We have the tools and could do it if we tried. There is no downside.”
As of late Friday, other celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga and Alyssa Milano had tweeted that the spreading flames had forced them to leave their homes and encouraged people do what they could to support the firefighters.
