Study: Who's Watching The Oscars? Mostly Young, Mostly Liberal Viewers

Even despite recent viewership declines, the Oscars remain one of the most-watched entertainment programs on television. Only NFL games consistently draw higher viewership.
But who are the people who watch the annual awards show? CivicScience, a research company that tracks trends in real time, conducted a survey looking at who intends to watch this year’s Academy Awards, which air tonight on ABC.
It found that a relatively small slice of respondents, just 5 percent, say they are very likely to watch the ceremony, with another 13 percent saying they are somewhat likely.
