Don’t wait for Black Friday for great deals on Amazon Echo speakers. Here’s how to get a cheap Echo.
The Black Friday sales season is coming! These deals are the best available right now, but the coming weeks may bring even better value across a wider range of products. Prime Day has been and gone but the Amazon Echo deals continue. It’s not as cheap as earlier this week, but £20 off remains a great saving on the Echo Dot (3rd generation), currently just £29.99. You’ll also find £20 off Echo Show 5 (now £59.99), £40 off Echo Spot (now £79.99), £50 off Echo Show 8 (now £69.99), and £40 off the Echo Show 2 (now £179.99). Amazon isn’t the only stockist of Echo speakers, and typically other retailers will match its deals – sometimes also offering alternative bundle deals, too. In addition to this there are some great bundle deals around, as well as discounts on refurbished Echo devices. Our price-comparison charts below update in real time, ensuring you buy your Echo device at the best price. It’s worth pointing out that Amazon has recently announced four new Echo speakers, which are all available to pre-order now and going on sale before Christmas. It should mean some tasty deals incoming for the older models. Right now Echo purchases also get you 90 days of Amazon Music Unlimited for free, which is two months longer than the existing 30-day trial. Read more about Music Unlimited and how it compares with Prime Music. The Echo Dot is Amazon’s cheapest smart speaker (the Flex isn’t really a speaker – it’s more of a utility device). With Alexa built-in it is capable of all the same things as the pricier Echos, but you don’t get a display and audio quality is naturally inferior, but still surprisingly good. With a retail price of £49.99, buying an Echo Dot is the best way to try Alexa in your home without investing too much, and it’s also the cheapest way to get an Echo in every room of the house when you ultimately decide you love it. An updated version of Echo Dot comes with a built-in display that can show the time, alarms and timers, as well as the outside temperature – handy additions that enable Echo Dot to work as a bedside alarm clock, though they come at a £10 premium over the standard model.
