The incident comes as Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore announced he would create a task-force focusing on capturing home burglars.
Jacqueline Avant, the wife of music executive Clarence Avant and mother-in-law of Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos, was shot and killed during a home invasion and robbery at her Beverly Hills area home early Wednesday, according to multiple news outlets, part of a growing trend of home burglaries in the area. Avant married Clarence Avant in 1967. He is also known as “The Black Godfather” of the music industry for his role helping launch the careers of some of the greatest Black artists including Michael Jackson, Terry Lewis and Babyface, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
